A Day of Warmth and Water

Sometimes you do not need big adventures or long distances. You just need warm water, fresh air, and a good day. Just an hour and a half from Thessaloniki — and we are already in the mountains.

First, Edessa. A powerful waterfall — 30 meters of living force. You can get close, feel the spray, take a walk, have a coffee with a view, and simply reset.

And then — Loutra Aridaias. This is not a spa resort with marble and champagne. It is a true local thermal bath, where Greeks have been coming for decades — for health and for pleasure. Hot mineral water at around 38°C. Steam rising above the river. The contrast between warm and cool streams. You step in — and your body literally exhales. The water is believed to be beneficial: — for the skin — for gynecological and urological issues — for joints and muscles — for fatigue and stress You can swim in the large pool, sit in a natural thermal bath right in the gorge, book a massage, or enjoy a private bath. Do not forget a towel, robe, and slippers — and you are ready to go for warmth and relaxation.

And then — a traditional taverna. Simple, delicious, and truly Greek.

It is the perfect trip when you want: not to rush, not to tick boxes, but simply to enjoy yourself. And yes… especially in autumn and winter, the place draws you in like a magnet.

Sometimes the best plan for the day is warm water, mountains, and no rush at all. And believe me, when you are sitting in a hot pool among the rocks, you will say: “I’m so glad we came.”
